In 15 minutes I got 4k. I would think there is better ways to farm, is there not? I have every single character type so does anyone know some straight farming that can rack up some cash (more than 4k per 15~20 mins)

This run is a nice change of pace from the necro farm.. quite fun.
The drops are like anywhere in HM, really.. some golds, some elite tomes and
loads of Granite Slabs.. good for crafting consumables or selling.. pays pretty
good at trader.
A nice quick run indeed.
Thanks, OP!

Where was that? That's one heck of a drop rate at the prices the merchant gives you. Vermin were probably one of the better merch fodder runs and it wasn't anywhere close to that (even with the occasional higher value trader drop).
There are still places that average around that, but like back then they weren't merchant fodder but depended on good drops for the rare material or rune *trader* - not merchant fodder. They only work in that range over fairly long period of time - many runs can even loose money (for instance UW runs).
I wouldn't doubt that they existed - I'm sure some people kept them to their selves (just as I would believe they currently exist for the same reason) - however a widely known merchant fodder farming area at 15-18k per hour? You must have been WAY faster than everyone else to get that or you decided not to count things like time IDing/selling, getting there, and other things that make up a full run. While many figured their GPH that way it is *highly* inaccurate to do so.

That was farming the kirin in pongmei valley using a mass agro warrior build, each run took about 4 mins (including zoning and selling), and each run would net about 1k.

Basically, as I said, it replaces a troll or vermin run before loot scaling was introduced - no spikes in GPH, but then no real dips either.

That's my problem then, I've been getting minimal drops period. Over the past few hours I'm looking at 1-3kph merchant fodder. Factor in any salvageable mods, golds, or tomes, and maybe 2-4kps on the high.
I watch videos and such of this farming and I see people get steady drops of a few stones, slabs, and merchant trash per group. I'm lucky when I get more than 1 piece of rock. The average group drops 1-2 items.
I guess these hulks just don't like me.

I got a ruby just last week. It's just very rare.

I've gotten one ruby and one sapphire in the last couple of months, so they still drop. This is probably the most profitable run I can do right now, given the current high sale price of granite, so any jewels are a really just a bonus. And I craft a lot of Deldrimor Steel, so the charcoal comes in very handy. I use Shockwave and Tenai's Crystals in addition to Sliver Armor to speed up the run a bit.
I was farming Fire Imps outside LA in NM the other day to get Glowing Hearts, and one dropped a ruby. That was quite a surprise to me, so they might be worth trying in HM if jewels are what you need.

Actually, I always get good drops here. I either use 55/SS, Ele SH, 130 derv, or TC wammo or VwK builds. I don't really SoJ anywhere other than undead, its soooo slow compared to spamming SS.
Ofcause I use varitions. a few days ago I got elite tomes from both bosses in one run and a few goldss a black, Lockpick, granite and plenty of ToT

I got a Sapph drop 3 nights ago. Confirmed.
I run this with a 55 SV Necro:
Protective Spirit
Healing Breeze
Spoil Victor [Elite]
Vampiric Gaze
[optional]
Essence Bond
Balthazar's Spirit
Mending
Blood Magic: 16
Protection Prayers: 8
Healing Prayers: 8
Soul Reaping: whatever is left+3 (I'll edit this when I get home and can check; @ work)
A run from Ascalon City to Sardelac Sanitarium takes 10 minutes, give or take some time for lag or if you get a Grawl Spawn. If you get a Grawl Spawn, continue behind Sardelac to get more Hulking Stone Ele's, but be careful of Devourer and Crown of Thorns pop-ups. More than 2 of these type of mobs can ruin your day.
My average per run is between 900g - 1.5k in merch drops. This doesn't include crafting materials (Chitin, Granite Slabs, Sapphires, Rubies), Gold items, Tomes, or Picks. Don't waste your time with Locked Chests, the skins aren't in demand, Picks are better used elsewhere for more profit, and depending on the run, you can net up to 7 Gold items from drops.

This is actually a very good farm. I use a Sliver Armour/Crystal Wave build though. That I think is best if you do not have the extra attribute points like me :P

- the run takes quite awhile. For a group of 9 stones, you may use SoJ about 4 times. When you have about 15 stones, you'll use it about 6. After killing all the stones then going after the Ele boss, it will take about 4 SoJ's to get the rest of his health down.
I've gotten some good drops though. I'd rather just do a 2-3 minute run and get less drops than take 15 minutes to run with a 55 and get a fair amount of drops.

Try a 55 Mo/N SV build. Throw in a life-steal and u can kill the boss as well.

Thanks for this build! I've been wanting a good place to farm for granite to start collecting for my destroyer weapons. Only a few hours in and I've gotten a stack and a half of granite, a ruby, several golds and tons of tomes.
Every once in awhile the grawl are attacking my poor stone eles when I exit sardelac, but this is a pretty simple, good farm. Thanks again

Mind if I give this a much deserved bump for people who want to learn how to do it?
I started it again to get sapphires and rubies for Vabbi armor for my HoM. I've done 3 runs so far and already got 1 sapphire and a black dye.
Another thing that is now great about this run is that you get LOTS of Granite slabs from the elementals. They drop piles of them occasionally (as well as charcoal), and the many scorched lodestones that they drop salvage into granite as well, which you can use for destroyer weapons.

I've been doing this with a defy pain warrior lately, scythe is fastest but killing them 1 by one with a conjure axe gives you loads more granite.
Everyone needs granite atm for their destroyer weapons, 10k per stack iirc.

You're sure you really tested this thoroughly? ...I use the same DP build too and yeah... I notice a lot of time when 3 or more of them die at the same time from scything, it seems like there's less drops. But I don't wanna 1-at-a-time them unless there's some empirical evidence behind it...
